My name is Georgi Miloshov and welcome to my light straw-clay bungalow building blog. The site dedicated to anyone interested in eco-friendly and tiny building, gardening and living. If you are brand new to straw bale or are a straw bale construction specialist there's something for you at. So, when i'm not swimming, sayling or taking photograf in the fog, i'm thinking and working about my new idea - tiny bungalows in mountain with light straw-clay construction.

LightStrawClay

In Europe, light straw-clay houses are examples of culture development. This technique, also known as a light clay or a light loam, evolved from a heavier clay method called wattle and daub, which has been used in construction for at least 6.000 years (now mostly in use in the preservation of historic buildings).

Straw-clay construction is an eco-friendly building method. The straw provides insulation, and the clay slip gives some thermal mass and optimal regulation of humidity in the house.

The location

The town of Sapareva Banya is situated on the Northern slopes of Rila Mountain in the Southwestern part of Bulgaria, approx. one hour drive from the city of Sofia. The region is rich in popular tourist destinations some of which are the Seven Rila Lakes, the Skakavitza Reserve and Waterfall.

Sapareva Banya is known for its cool, clean mountain water and is famous for its unique geothermal mineral spring in the very center of the town, surrounded by a large park and restaurant of the same name.
